HELPFUL TERMINOLOGY

  • Palm Pull: Fabric on forehand is extended down about ½" on cuff.
  • Long Palm: Entire glove longer, extending ½" below wrist.
  • Grain Leather: The smoothest, outermost part of the hide.
  • Split Leather: Sueded.
  • Cowhide Leather: Most common for gloves. It is extremely supple and flexible, providing maximum comfort and great strength.
  • Pigskin Leather: Tough, pliable, soft-drying and flexible, even after repeated wettings.
  • Side Leather: More expensive, generally best for gloves requring maximum flexibility and strength.
  • Shoulder Leather: Less expensive, often thicker and stiffer with high strength.
