The Double Palm is a glove made from two pieces of Caton Flannel material which have been quilted together. The palm, thumb and index fingers are made from this 2 ply material while the back of the other three fingers are made from a single ply. The gloves are referred to by the combined weight of the materials in the palm. The heavier flannel is usually the outer layer due to its additional durability
